LEXINGTON, Ky. – It was announced on Monday, July 22 that the Adrian College women's volleyball team earned its fourth-consecutive American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. Adrian is one of 1,125 teams to have been awarded this honor for their academic performance during the 2018-19 season.
In order for a squad to be given the AVCA Team Academic Award, it must maintain a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale. The award covers teams from many different levels of competition, all three NCAA divisions all the way to high school boys and girls teams.
The Bulldogs were one of 175 Division III teams (including all eight Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schools) to earn this accolade. The number of Division III competitors accomplishing this feat is ever growing, with two more schools joining the list since the 2017 season.
AC has garnered recognition from the AVCA for its dedication to academic excellence every year since 2015.
