GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The women's tennis team secured a sixth place finish in the MIAA standings in 2015 with an 8-1 loss at Calvin College on Wednesday afternoon. The Bulldogs finish the season 10-9 overall and 3-5 in the MIAA. The team dropped four of their last five matches to end the season all against conference foes.
The Bulldogs managed just four games in three doubles matches trailing 3-0. Arielle Williams and Renae Adams Almasy picked up three of those games at one doubles. The point in the match for Adrian happened at six singles as McKenzie Krieg defeated Liz Turner by scores of 6-3, 2-6, 10-6. Morgan Spencer gave it a spirited try at three singles as she forced a third set against Claire Spoelhof. Spoelhof won the first set 6-4 and then Spencer took the second set 6-2. The super tiebreak third set was 10-2 in favor of Spoelhof.
