LEXINGTON, Ohio - The Adrian College women's tennis team traveled to Heidelberg University on Sunday for their first match of the spring season. The Bulldogs put up a good fight but fell 5-4 to the Student Princes. The Bulldogs held a 2-1 lead after doubles as the number two and three duos got a win. Renae Adams Almasy and Victoria Watson defeated Nicole Millar and Markilynn Hogle 8-5 at two doubles. Justine Hanson and Morgan Spencer also picked up a 8-3 win at three doubles over Sara Potts and Siara Patrick.
Heidelberg claimed four of the six singles matches to earn the comeback win. Spencer and Hanson continued a good day with singles wins. Spencer was victorious at three singles with a 6-7 (2-7), 6-2, 6-3 rally over Millar. Hanson needed straight sets to defeat Potts at five singles by scores of 6-3, 6-1. Kylee Bezeau had a close match at one singles with a 6-7 (2-6) first set loss and then 6-3 in set two against Sofey Fugate. Watson also stretched Patrick at six singles to three sets before falling 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.
