Bulldogs Take Down Cornerstone 8-1

ADRIAN, Mich. - The women's tennis team captured an 8-1 win on Monday afternoon at the Craft Tennis Complex over Cornerstone University on a hot sunny day for March.

The Bulldogs improved to 3-2 overall and did so by sweeping singles in straight sets. Shelby Kruszewski defeated Amy Fouty 6-4, 6-1 at one singles. Shannon Woods defeated Jamie Silvers 6-2, 6-0 at two singles. Sarah Kean was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at three singles over Hannah Guest.

Sarah Brooks, Jordenne Ferenczi and Sarah Sokolowski all had easy wins in their singles matches. The doubles tandem of Kruszewski and Kean were 8-2 winners at one doubles and Woods and Brooks also were 8-2 winners at two doubles.

"The ladies stepped up and played a great match after having a break in their schedule," said head coach Adam Albertsen. "I thought the entire team stepped up their game in singles and finished the match strong."

The next match for the Lady Bulldogs will be against Albion on Saturday, March 24 at 1:00 pm.
