Women’s Tennis Wins First MIAA Match at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. – It was a big win for the Adrian College women's tennis team on Tuesday (Mar. 30) as they picked up their first MIAA victory of the season with a 5-4 decision at Trine. The Bulldogs are now 3-6 overall and 1-1 in the MIAA.

The doubles competition saw Trine jump out to a 2-1 lead. Adrian got their point at three doubles with an 8-1 win. Sarah Brooks and Jordenne Ferenczi got the best of Susan Breinling and Kaylynne Goeglein.

Adrian won four of the six singles matches to pull out the win. Shannon Woods won 7-5, 6-2 at two singles over Lauren Schlueter. Sarah Kean won at three singles with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Chrissy Uphaus. Brooks got her second win of the match at four singles with a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Samantha Willman. The six singles of Ferenczi and Goeglein was a 6-0, 6-0 whitewashing and gave AC their fifth team point.
