Adrian Drops its First Contest of the Season on the Road

GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Adrian College women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Denison University on Sunday afternoon.

Final Score: Denison 2, Adrian 0

Records: Denison 1-2-2, Adrian 2-1-1

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

The hosting Big Red took control of the contest early in the first half, picking up their first goal in the sixth minute, with what proved to be the deciding goal.

Denison sealed the deal with an insurance goal, also coming in the first half.

Senior goalie Ayverie Giller played in the first half of the game, making five saves while allowing just two goals. Junior Kristen Page came in for relief in the second 45 minute stanza, collecting one save of her own.

Despite being able to record a tally of their own, the Bulldogs put up 13 shots, seven of which were on-goal. Leading the squad in on-goal attempts was Caroline Fleming
