FREELAND, Mich. - Adrian College women's soccer senior Rachel Rodeheffer was named the Defensive Player of the Week by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) for the week of Oct. 22-28.
Rodeheffer scored three goals and added an assist in Adrian's three games last week. She scored two goals from headers from corners in a 3-0 win against North Central (Ill.) on Monday and added another goal the same way in the Bulldogs' 6-0 win over Finlandia in the season finale. Her assist came from a long ball from the defensive zone to the attacking third as part of a 3-0 win at Albion on Wednesday.
This is the third time that a member of the Adrian College women's soccer team has been named a Player of the Week by the MIAA, as the Bulldogs swept the weekly awards earlier in the month. This is Rodeheffer's second time being named Defensive Player of the Week, winning the award once last year. Last week Rodeheffer was named to the All-MIAA First Team for the second year in a row.
The Bulldogs return to action this Wednesday, Oct. 31 when they host Calvin for a semifinal match in the MIAA Tournament. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
