ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's soccer team defeated Alma College 1-0 on Wednesday, Sep. 19. The win was the Bulldogs' second straight shutout.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Adrian was able to break the scoreless tie just before halftime, when freshman McKenna Mahoney scored her third goal in two games in the 39th minute. Mahoney took a low shot from just outside the box and finished into the lower left corner of the net for the game's only scoring entry.
For the fifth time this year the Bulldogs had at least twice as many shots as their opponent, with the Bulldogs outshooting the Scots 21-5 in this one, with a 15-3 advantage for shots on net. The Black and Gold also out-earned Alma in corner kicks, winning 13 to the Scots' two.
• Mahoney scored the lone goal, giving her the team lead with three. Mahoney also led the team in shots, taking five in the contest, with four going on net.
• Lauren Sollestre led the Scots in shots, taking two.
• Goalkeeper Ally Wentworth turned aside 13 shots in a busy day in goal.

The Bulldogs are off from competitive play until next Wednesday, Sep. 26 when they travel to Olivet to open the conference schedule. Before then, the Black and Gold have their annual alumni game scheduled for this Saturday, Sep. 22 at Docking Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
