Women's Soccer Travels to Olivet for Semifinals of MIAA Tournament on Thursday

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's soccer team finished third in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings with 32 points. The team will travel to Olivet on Thursday, November 2 to face the Comets in the semifinal round of the MIAA tournament. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m., ET.

Tickets for the game in Olivet, Michigan are $5 for adults, $3 for children, and students with an MIAA school ID will be admitted to the game for free.

Adrian and Olivet split the regular season series with the home team winning each meeting. The Bulldogs defeated the Comets 3-0 on September 20. Olivet earned a 3-2 decision on October 21. The Comets are the last team to beat Adrian--the Bulldogs are currently on a three-game winning streak.

Sophomore Caroline Fleming is the leading scorer for Adrian with a point total of 29 (10g,9a). Fleming's 10 goals are currently tied for fourth-most, her nine assists are second, and her 29 points are fourth in the MIAA. Freshman Mya Oleksiak (9g,3a) and senior Mackenzie Wilcox (9g,3a) each have 21 points for the second-most on the team. The Bulldog defense is a very big part of Adrian's success this season as the team has delivered 10 shutouts this season, nine of which have been against conference opponents. Sophomore goalkeeper Ayverie Giller (13-4-2) is second among conference keepers in save percentage with .841 and goals-against average with 0.80. She also ranks third in goals against with 14.

Senior Isabelle Leon leads the league with 43 points (16g,11a) on the season. Her 11 assists on the year lead the MIAA and her 16 goals are second-most among her conference peers. Junior Emma Essen is second on the team with 31 points (12g,7a)--a point total that is third in the league. Her assist mark is tied for fourth-most in the MIAA. Maya Prewitt (Sophomore) is third on the team with 11 points (4g,3a). Freshman keeper Brooklyn Holley (9-5) is fifth in the conference in save percentage (.760) and has tallied three shutouts.
