OLIVET, Mich. - The Adrian College women's soccer team came up just short on the road against Olivet with a 3-2 loss. Caroline Fleming and Mackenzie Wilcox each scored for the Bulldogs in the losing effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Comets scored two goals just 19 seconds apart in the first half to take a 2-0 lead. Emma Essen scored the first Olivet goal off an assist from Isabelle Leon at the 11:15 mark of the first. Essen and Leon switch places on the second goal with Leon scoring off an assist by Essen at 11:34.
Rachael Durocher scored an unassisted goal in the 26th minute to increase the Comet lead to 3-0.
Caroline Fleming scored 10 minutes later to cut the Adrian deficit to just two goals as the teams entered the locker room for halftime.
Olivet had 13 shot attempts in the first half--10 were on goal--while holding the Bulldogs to only four attempts (two on goal).
Adrian outshot the Comets 15-2 in the second half but was unable to tie the game before the end of regulation.
• Fleming had six shot attempts (five on goal) to lead the Bulldogs in the losing effort.
• Church added four shot attempts to her stat line. She registered the only assist for the Bulldogs in the game.
• Essen, Leon, and Durocher were the goal scorers for Olivet. Leon led the Comets with five shot attempts (all on goal).
• Chelsie Smith and Durocher each had two shots on goal.
Adrian will look to bounce back when the team hosts Kalamazoo on Tuesday, October 24. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., ET.
