INDIANAPOLIS - The Adrian College women's soccer team was chosen to the NCAA regional rankings as announced by the national office on October 18. The Bulldogs are currently sixth in the Central Region with an overall record of 10-4-2 and a 7-3-2 mark in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) action. Adrian is one of two teams in the MIAA to be ranked among the best teams in the region (Hope is currently ranked fourth).
"It's nice to get a little recognition for the season that our team is putting together, and we appreciate that the committees are taking note of our body of work," said Head Coach Ali Alamdari. "That said, rankings are irrelevant if you don't reach your goals, and our primary goal of returning to the postseason hasn't been accomplished yet."
The Bulldogs are currently fourth in the MIAA standings and have upcoming matches against Olivet, Kalamazoo, Calvin, and Saint Mary's (Ind.); Olivet and Kalamazoo are both ahead of Adrian in the league standings.
The Bulldogs will clash with the Comets this Saturday in Olivet. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., ET. Adrian earned a victory earlier season over Olivet, defeating the Comets 3-0 at home.
