ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's soccer team defeated St. Mary's 2-1 in overtime on senior day. The Bulldogs outshot the Belles 33-3 in the game (13-2 shots on goal).
"I think the shot count is reflective of the flow of the match," said Head Coach Ali Alamdari. "Our girls were perhaps a bit too anxious to send our seniors off with a win and it affected the quality of our ball-striking and finishing. Once we settled down at halftime, we started to find our rhythm.
The seven seniors on the team were honored at halftime and the win allows them to walk off their home field with a win.
"We can't say enough about these seven seniors and the contributions that they've made to our program," Alamdari stated. "We challenged them with leading a culture change, and every single one of them has risen to the occasion. This is a very special group and we're all thrilled that they get to walk off this field for the last time with another notch in the win column.
