NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The women's soccer team needed some help on Saturday (Nov. 1) to get into the MIAA Tournament and did what they could in a 2-1 overtime win at Saint Mary's. Alma College picked up a 3-1 win against Trine in other action meaning the Bulldogs missed out of the top four in the conference standings.
"The seniors capped off their careers with a vintage Adrian performance today," said head coach Ali Alamdari. "They could have settled for a tie, but proved what the game meant to them by immediately coming out firing in overtime. The strike by Sofia was maybe the goal of the year, and we think it's a sign of things to come from her. As hard as it is to say goodbye to these nine seniors, they can rest assured that their legacy of success at Adrian will continue."
Erin Weide scored a goal in her final game at 24:20 to give Adrian a 1-0 lead with an assist from Sophie Rammal. Baylee Adams tied the game unassisted at 55:05 to force overtime. Farah blasted it from 35 yards out for the game-winner as Adrian finished 9-8-3 overall and 7-7-2 in the conference.
