KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The women's soccer team could not solve the Kalamazoo College mystery with a 3-0 loss on Wednesday (Oct. 22). The Bulldogs played 180 minutes against the Hornets and failed to score against the second-place team in the MIAA. Adrian now occupies fifth place in the MIAA as Albion defeated Calvin in other action on the day. The Bulldogs are three points behind Albion and three points ahead of Calvin. The Bulldogs will travel to Calvin on Saturday in what appears to be a make-or-break contest with just three conference games left in the regular season. Adrian will be looking for redemption after a 2-0 loss at home back on Sept. 24.
Kalamazoo scored all three of their goals in the second half. Sydney Spring had a goal and assist scoring her second of the season at 48:24. She then assisted on a Maria Rich goal at 54:33. Paige Sambor scored her fourth of the season at 85:29 off a rebound. Lexi Lewandowski saved three shots on net and her counterpart Lucy Mailing stopped both Adrian shots on goal for the match.
