ALBION, Mich.- The Bulldogs took on the Britons of Albion College Wednesday evening. Adrian College knew this would be a tough MIAA road match, and an efficient game was needed in order to secure the win. This was exactly what Coach Ali Alamdari was able to get from his team as the Bulldogs secured the win 2-0 to improve to (9-5, 7-4) on the season.
This match was a tough road conference battle, just as the Bulldogs were anticipating. The first half of play was scoreless with Albion College having a seven to five advantage in total shots at the break. After the break, Adrian wasted little time breaking the tie in the 49th minute when Ellery Karsten scored her fifth goal of the season on a header from an Erin Weide assist. This sparked the Bulldogs second half offensive surge that was followed by Weide's 12th goal of the season in the 61st minute that secured the Adrian College win. The Bulldogs outshot the Britons eight to one in the second half and 13 to seven for the match. Lexi Lewandowski secured her shutout by stopping all five shots the Britons put on goal.
Alamdari liked his team's focus for the game, "our focus today was on increasing our passing percentage in order to limit transition opportunities, and we were pleased with the result in that regard. We knew that goals would be much tougher to come by than the last time we played Albion, and I thought that Becky Reynolds and Tori Foote did a great job organizing our shape and movement from the back."
The Bulldogs will play again away at Trine University this Saturday, October 19th at 12:00 p.m.
