Lewandowski Named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week

ROYAL OAK, Mich.  – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Adrian College goalkeeper Lexi Lewandowski its Defensive Player of the Week in women's soccer for games played through Sept. 29.

Lewandowski, a sophomore from Rochester Hills (Rochester Adams HS), made a career-high 13 saves, including 11 in the second half, as the Bulldogs moved into a first-place tie with Alma in the MIAA race with a 1-0 victory over the Scots. She is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career. Lewandowski has made 45 saves which is second-most in the MIAA. She also ranks second in save percentage (.833) and fourth in goals-against average (1.20). Her seven wins in net also leads the conference.
