ADRIAN, Mich. – The women's soccer team (8-2-1, 5-2-1) defeated Albion College (0-11-1, 0-7-1), 4-0, Saturday afternoon to give the team back-to-back shutout conference wins.
Sam Barker repeated her performance from earlier this week with another two-goal performance upping her season total to six on the season. Barker scored the team's first and third goals of the game, both in the first half. The first Barker goal came at the 12:25 mark, while the second Barker goal came from a shot about 20 yards out that she flipped over the Albion goalkeeper. Ellery Karsten added to her team-leading assist total (4) on the latter score.
Erin Weide scored her team-leading 10th goal of the season just over 26 minutes into the contest, after a pass from Sophie Rammal sprung her free toward the net, where she found the right lower corner to put the Bulldogs up, 2-0.
Adrian bested Albion in shots and corner kicks, 39-2 and 11-0, respectively; and dominated the match territorially. Next up for Adrian is a road game at current conference-leader Alma on Tuesday, October 9th, starting at 4:00 p.m.
