ROYAL OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Alma forward Kelly Wilson and Adrian goalkeeper Chayna Wallace its Players of the Week in women's soccer for games played through Sept. 23.
Wallace, a senior from Temperance (Bedford HS), allowed one goal for the week in backstopping the Bulldogs to a pair of MIAA victories. She made six saves, including several highlight-reel stops in the first half, in a 2-1 overtime victory at Kalamazoo, then followed with a shutout performance in difficult weather conditions in a 2-0 win over Trine. Wallace is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
Wallace currently ranks 46th nationally in goals against average (0.57) and 56th in save percentage (.871). She has posted three shutouts this season and 12 for her career. She is the all-time wins leader in net at AC with 28 victories.
