BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Head Coach Ali Alamdari picked up his 50th win at Adrian College and junior forward Sam Barker notched a pair of goals in the Bulldogs' 3-1 win over DePauw on a neutral field at Illinois Wesleyan University.
All three Adrian goals were scored in the first half with sophomore Erin Weide scoring the other goal for the Bulldogs. Barker scored just 3:23 into the match with an assist from Patti Vaassen on a header off a corner kick. Weide gave Adrian a 2-0 lead under five minutes later unassisted on a breakaway effort down the left side. Barker increased the lead to 3-0 at the 14:11 mark again from Vaassen on a similar play with a header from a corner kick. Sophia DaSilveria scored the lone goal for DePauw at the 21:06 mark unassisted as she curled in a free kick from 25 yards.
Adrian had 10 shots in the first half and cruised in the second half with two shots. The Bulldogs had six shots on goal led by Barker's three. Sophie Rammal and Becky Reynolds also had a shot on goal off the bench. Senior goalkeeper Chayna Wallace made four saves including three in the second half.
