HOLLAND, Mich. - The Adrian College (6-3 overall, 4-1 MIAA) women's soccer team moves to second in the MIAA standings after a 2-1 win over Hope College (5-3, 3-2) on September 28. Both squads were regionally ranked (Hope-8th, Adrian-10th) coming in and the Lady Bulldogs showed that they can play with the tough competition in the MIAA.
Sam Barker got the scoring started for the Lady Bulldogs in the 21:31 mark when she scored off a rebound from six yards out.
Hope answered eight minutes later with a goal off the foot of Lindsay Jipping from 20 yards out. The assist went to Erin Jipping.
At the 64:04 mark, Barker would score again with her conference-leading ninth goal of the season as she placed one in the back of the net from 18 yards out. This marks Barker's fifth game-winner which also tops the MIAA.
For the game, Adrian outshot Hope 15-12.
In the net, Chayna Wallace picks up her sixth win on the season, while gathering in three saves.
