Women's Rowing Places Sixth in MARC Championships Debut Behind All-Conference Trio

LEWISBERRY, Pa.--In just its first season of competition, Adrian College Women's Rowing placed three team members on the all-conference team and the Bulldogs finished sixth in the 11-school Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championships on Saturday at Gifford Pinchot State Park. Adrian registered 44 points as a first-year program.

The Bulldogs freshmen trio of Hannah Heller and Grace Cool were named all-MARC on varsity and Heather Temar at novice. 

The varsity 8 began the morning with a clocking of 8 minutes and 36.36 seconds for third in the opening heat, earning a spot in the Grand Final. In the afternoon, the Bulldogs were sixth in the GF with a time of 8:43.73.

The second varsity 8 posted a 10:13.14 time to advance to the Grand Final and place sixth, but a time was not available.

In the novice 4, Adrian recorded an 8:43.81 which was the second-best time among the participants.

Washington College (69 points) defeated Johnson & Wales (59) for the team title.

The 'Dogs will race next on Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa.
