INDIANAPOLIS--The Adrian College women's lacrosse team appeared in the upper-third of several categories in the final NCAA Division III statistics rankings. There are 270 institutions that sponsor the sport in the NCAA's largest classification.
The Bulldogs were 19th nationally with a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association-topping 24.73 ground balls per game, setting a new school record. They also were 66th in draw controls at 12.67 per outing, which was second in the MIAA.
In addition, an Adrian trio of sophomores Alex Branum, Annika Nuler, and freshman Annie Rice were ranked in the top 3 percent among over 5,000 female student-athletes competing in lacrosse this spring. In free-position percentage, Nuler was 132nd (.474), Rice placed 149th (.467) and Branum came in 193rd (.435). Nuler also averaged 3.07 draw controls for 196th.
