Bulldogs Fall to MIAA Leader Albion 20-9

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's lacrosse team fell 20-9 at home on Saturday afternoon to MIAA leader Albion.


Final Score: Adrian 9, Albion 20

Location: Adrian, Michigan (Docking Stadium)

Records: Adrian (3-9, 2-3), Albion (7-6, 6-0)


• Led by Julie Wood's three goals, the Britons jumped out to a 7-0 lead

Annika Nuler and Ava Cares would each score a goal in the final five minutes of the first half for the Bulldogs to cut the deficit to five goals heading into halftime

• Nuler would put in two more goals to earn the hat trick (her sixth of the season)

Alex Branum also scored three goals, all in the second half, for her sixth hat trick of the year

• Albion would outscore Adrian 13-7 in the second half


• Nuler and Branum's hat tricks made up two-thirds of Adrian's points in the game

• Cares, Nicole Paradis and Mariesa Johnson scored the other three goals for the Bulldogs

Annie Rice had a game high two assists as well as a team high five ground balls

Jenna Carter had a game high seven draw controls


• Julie Wood scored a game high seven goals

• Kadie Koolwick scored five goals and Alex Radzville scored four on top of two assists each

• Koolwick also scooped up a game high seven ground balls, won a team high five draw controls and led all players with five caused turnovers


• Adrian will travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to take on conference foe Calvin on Tuesday, April 26 before heading home for the final two games of the regular season
