ADRIAN, Mich. – The Bulldogs faced Wittenberg University Tuesday evening in their home opener. The Bulldogs battled the Tigers to a 3-1 score before Wittenberg used a late first half run to pull away. The Tigers would secure a 21-2 win over the Bulldogs as Adrian tallied one goal in each half.
The Tigers took a 3-0 lead before Michelle Sandlin scored her first of the season on a free position shot with 21:54 left in the half. The Bulldogs would battle the Tigers to an 8-1 score before Wittenberg tallied four goals in the final five minutes of the half to take a 12-1 halftime lead. The Tigers would add to their lead in the second half as the scored the first four goals of the period. Rose Krasofsky then scored her first career goal with 22:46 remaining unassisted.
Alison Dungey made the start in goal for the Bulldogs and recorded nine saves and three ground balls. TaShina Salas would come off of the bench to record six ground balls and cause two turnovers. The Tigers would pull away in the second half with nine goals to drop Adrian to a 0-2 overall record.
