Adrian Picked To Win Third Straight MIAA Women’s Lacrosse Title

FREELAND, Mich.  – Two-time defending champion Adrian has been picked as the preseason favorite to win the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's lacrosse championship.

The Bulldogs, who have not lost a conference game in the MIAA's first two seasons of sponsoring women's lacrosse, received seven out of a possible nine first-place votes in the poll of the league's coaches. Albion and Alma each received one.

Adrian is looking to reload as the Bulldogs seek their third consecutive MIAA championship. They will be led by junior midfielder TaShina Salas as she returns from a 72-point season (60 goals, 12 assists). Salas, a second team All-MIAA selection, was an effective two-way player for the Bulldogs as she also led the team in caused turnovers (34). She will be joined by senior midfielder Michelle Sandlin, a first team All-MIAA selection who recorded 23 ground balls and 10 draw controls while leading a defense that allowed just five goals per game in league play.
The Bulldogs will begin their season March 6 when they travel to take on Morrisville St. at 3 p.m.
