Bulldogs Crowned 2014 MIAA Champs after 25-5 Win Over Britons

ADRIAN, Mich. – The women's lacrosse team completed their regular season Saturday afternoon as they took on Albion College. The Bulldogs took down the Britons 25-5 as they rolled to a perfect 8-0 record in the MIAA in 2014 and were crowned MIAA Champions. This win puts the Bulldogs overall record at 10-5 and their MIAA record at 8-0.

The Bulldogs took control early in the contest as they jumped with quick scoring on the Britons as they left Albion behind, 13-3, goals just 16:36 into the game. The Bulldogs would carry this momentum to the half as they were in full control of the game after 30 minutes, 16-4.

The second half was highlighted by Adrian scoring quickly as they put the Britons behind for good with three goals in the first 10:40 of the half to leave the score at 19-4. The Bulldogs only allowed one second half goal as they added a total of nine on their way to a commanding 25-5 victory.

Maddie Dugan scored six goals. Hannah Early added five goals while Brianna Plester scored five times to accompany three assists. TaShina Salas scored four goals and Sarah Connelly scored twice while adding an assist. Christine Campbell, Lydia Reedy and Katie Barnes each scored a goal to cap the Adrian offense.

Jul Tehovnik (10-5) earned the victory in goal for Adrian as she made 3 saves.

The Bulldogs will see action again in the MIAA tournament when they host the semifinals on Wednesday, April 30 as they vie for an automatic qualifying bid into the NCAA tournament.
