ADRIAN, Mich. – The women's lacrosse team took on Trine University Thursday night as they looked to remain the only unbeaten team in MIAA action. The Bulldogs did not falter once as they shut out Trine, 20-0. This win advances Adrian to 9-5 overall and 7-0 in the MIAA.
The Bulldogs started off hot and they did not look back. Adrian got up 10-0 after just 13:50 of game time as they controlled the play through the first 30 minutes, 14-0. The Bulldogs did not let up in the second half as they secured their shut out and added six more goals on the way to a 20-0 victory.
Maddie Dugan led the Bulldogs offense as she scored five goals and added three assists. Hannah Early scored five goals while adding an assist, and TaShina Salas scored four goals to accompany two assists. Brianna Plester scored three times while Sarah Connelly, Lydia Reedy and Christine Campbell each added one goal.
Jul Tehovnik (9-5) earned the victory in goal for Adrian as she earned the shutout by making one save and recorded one ground ball.
The Bulldogs will see action again Saturday, April 26 when the host Albion at 12:00 p.m. This will be the final regular season game of 2014 for Adrian and senior day for Maddie Dugan, Sarah Connelly, Hannah Early, Nicol Parker and Jul Tehovnik.
