ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Adrian midfielder Cassie Hoyez and Adrian goalkeeper Maddie McDonald its Players of the Week in women's lacrosse for matches played through May 5.
Offensive Player of the Week
Hoyez, a senior from Circle Pines, Minn. (Centennial HS), scored five goals, scooped up three ground balls and had four draw controls in the Bulldogs' 17-6 victory over Alma in the MIAA tournament championship game. She also had four draw controls in a semifinal win over Albion. She is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Defensive Player of the Week
McDonald, a freshman from Whitby, Ontario, Canada (Austin Catholic Secondary), made 13 saves on 19 shots she faced in the Bulldogs' MIAA tournament championship victory over Alma. She also had four saves in Adrian's tournament semifinal win over Albion. She is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time this season.
