Women's Lacrosse Hosts Kenyon in NCAA Tournament

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's lacrosse team (16-2) will host Kenyon College (13-2) in the opening round of the 2013 NCAA Division III Tournament on Wednesday, May 8 at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs captured the inaugural Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association on Saturday, May 4 with a 17-6 win over Alma College. The win was the 10th in a row for the Bulldogs.

Adrian will be making its third straight and overall NCAA Tournament appearance. The Bulldogs dropped a 25-10 decision at eventual national champion Gettysburg on May 11, 2011 and then fell at home to Denison, 11-10, in double overtime on May 9, 2012.

Kenyon won the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament over Wooster, 14-9, and earned the automatic berth in the national tournament. The Ladies, who are riding a program record nine-game win streak, will be making their second appearance in the NCAA Tournament. In 2010, the Kenyon women upended Wooster in the NCAA first round to become the first-ever NCAC program to win a national tournament contest.

The winner of the opening round game will move on to play the winner of the game between SUNY-Cortland (18-1) and Keuka College (12-3) on Saturday, May 11.
