ALMA, Mich. – The women's lacrosse team (11-2, 3-0) gave Alma College (12-2, 3-1) their first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association loss Saturday afternoon and did so in convincing fashion at Bahlke Field.
The game was tight after about the first five minutes of play with the Bulldogs leading 3-2, but they pulled away for a 22-6 win to take over sole possession of first place in the MIAA standings.
Hannah Early matched Alma's goal total scoring six on the afternoon.
Birlson had a 10-point outing, while Dugan and Duncan each added seven points on the afternoon.
Thirty-five of Adrian's 41 shots were on net with Early leading the team with seven.
Adrian edged the Scots in groundballs, 26-9, with Duncan and Newblom leading the way with five apiece.
Maddie McDonald had five saves in the cage for the Bulldogs.
