ADRIAN, Mich. - The NCAA Tournament bound Adrian Bulldogs received more good news today, when eight players earned All-MWLC Honors. Senior Amanda Lambert (Sloatsburg, N.Y./Suffern) highlighted the team, earning MWLC Offensive Player of the Year.
Making first-team All-MWLC for the 17-2 MWLC Champion Bulldogs along with Lambert were Stacey Birlson, Olivia Duncan, Rachel Johnston, Katrina Rabishaw, and Laura VonderHaar. Earning second-team honors were Lindsey Day and Laura Finfrock.
The senior midfielder Lambert was third in the conference in goals per game with 3.17, and was second with 4.83 points per game. This is the second consecutive season in which Lambert has won player of the year honors, after the senior was named all-region during her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Birlson, Duncan, and Johnston led a lethal Adrian attack that averaged 16.25 goals per game during the regular season, which ranked first in the MWLC and 14th nationally. All three players are returners to the first-team All-MWLC from a season ago.
The two seniors on defense, Rabishaw and VonderHaar were part of a defensive lineup that was tough all season, causing 10.33 turnovers per game in conference play. VonderHaar earned second-team honors last season while this is the first season that Rabishaw was named All-MWLC.
Head Coach Rachel Cibulas was also recognized, earning MWLC Coach of the Year during her first season as head coach.
Adrian will play host to Denison Wednesday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA D-III Women's Lacrosse Championships.
