Women's Lacrosse Punches Ticket to NCAA Tournament

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's lacrosse team received an at-large bid into the 2012 NCAA Division III Tournament on Sunday night and will host its first-ever NCAA Tournament game on Wednesday, May 9 at 5:00 PM against Denison.

The Bulldogs (16-2) and Big Red (14-4) faced each other during the regular season back on March 9. Adrian traveled to Granville, Ohio and claimed an 11-9 victory. Rachel Johnston had two goals and two assists in that contest for Adrian. Amanda Lambert led the Bulldogs with three goals and one assist. Laura Finfrock had a superb game in net for the Bulldogs with 14 saves.

This will be the second straight NCAA Tournament appearance for Adrian. They lost to eventual national champion Gettysburg in the first round. The winner of Wednesday's game will face the winner of Gettysburg/Cabrini.
