ANGOLA, Ind. – After playing earlier in the day at Albion, the women's lacrosse team continued on to Trine University on Sunday evening for a 17-3 win over the Thunder. The Bulldogs improved to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference.
Adrian yielded nothing in the first half building a 12-0 lead at intermission. Adrian scored seven goals in the first 10:01 and then went over 10 minutes before their next goal. Cassie Hoyez scored two of her four goals in the first half. Lindsey Day also scored a pair of goals in the opening 30 minutes.
The Bulldogs increased their lead to 16-0 with 23:22 left in the game. Trine finished the game scoring three of the last four goals. Laura Finfrock and Jul Tehovnik each split time in net for the Bulldogs playing 30 minutes each. Finfrock made four first half saves and Tehovnik had one save in the second half.
Rachel Johnston recorded two goals and two assists while causing three turnovers. Olivia Duncan tied for the team lead with four goals on five shots on goal. Stacey Birlson registered a goal and two assists.
