MEADVILLE, Pa. - Senior midfielder Lindsey Day set a season-high with five goals and added two assists in Adrian College's 16-15 double overtime win at Allegheny on Saturday afternoon (Mar. 10). The Bulldogs were playing their fifth straight game on the road to start the season and improved to 4-1 overall in the process.
Adrian outshot Allegheny 39-30 for the contest which went into two extra sessions. Adrian had an 18-12 edge in the first half and then added 17 shots in the second half. Adrian led 6-5 at halftime and then Allegheny forced overtime tied at 13-13 after 60 minutes. Adrian scored twice in the first three-minute overtime and then added a goal in the second overtime period.
Stacey Birlson added three goals and an assist on four shots on goal for the match. Olivia Duncan, Rachel Johnston and Cassie Hoyez each had two goals a piece for the Bulldogs. Amanda Lambert had a pair of assists and two ground balls.
Laura Finfrock made nine saves in net for the Bulldogs improving to 2-1 in the crease. Day scored both goals in the first overtime at 2:31 and 1:34 on free-position shots. Duncan scored the game-winner at 16 seconds left in the contest on a free-position shot.
