Jandova Snags First NCHA Defensive Honor of the Season

DULUTH, Minn. – Adrian College's Denisa Jandova – of the No. 2 NCAA women's hockey team – was selected as the first Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Defensive Player of the Week of the 2019-20 season.

A busy weekend for the Bulldogs, Jandova earned herself a 2-0 start to the regular season slate, as they went 3-0.

In Friday evening's matchup with then-No. 2 Hamline, the Vejprnice, Czech Republic native collected 40 saves, while allowing just one goal. AC went on to defeat last season's national runner-up, 4-1.

Her second win of the season came on Saturday as Adrian took down Saint Mary's (Minn.) 3-2, while she added 21 more saves to her weekend total.

Jandova finished to regular season-opening weekend with 61 saves, a goals against average of 1.50 and a .953 save percentage.

The Bulldogs return to action at 6 p.m. on Nov. 15, as they travel to Marian (Wisc.) to kick off conference play.
