BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Adrian College women's hockey sophomore Neysa Miller was named one of the forwards in the D3hockey.com Team of the Week announced on Wednesday. This week's award was from games starting on Nov. 19 through Nov. 25. She is the first Bulldog to be named to the D3hockey Team of the Week this season.
Miller was the hero in Adrian's 1-0 win over second-ranked Plattsburgh State in the semifinal of the Panther Cardinal Classic. Her goal in the first period was the first goal Plattsburgh State had given up all year, and was decisive goal in handing the Cardinals their first loss of the year. The win was the Bulldogs' first in six tries against Plattsburgh State. The weekend was capped off the following day when the Black and Gold took down the fourth-ranked hosts Middlebury 4-1 to win the tournament. The wins propelled AC to the top of the national rankings for Division III women's hockey for the first time in program history.
The Bulldogs return home for a weekend series against Aurora to close out play for the 2018 calendar year. The team is conducting a Toy and Clothing Drive for the Associated Charities of Lenawee County in conjunction with the games this weekend. Fans are encouraged to bring new and gently used toys and clothes to help out local families in need this holiday season. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1.
