NORTHFIELD, Vt. -- Three members of the Adrian College women's ice hockey team were named to the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) CCM West Region All-America teams on during Thursday night's 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Ice Hockey Championship banquet held at Norwich University.
Sophomore Kelly O'Sullivan (Inverness, Ill.) was named to the first team for the second consecutive season. Freshman Kate Turner (Houston, Texas) and senior Kristi Zink (Canton, Mich.) made their debut on the All-America teams with second-team nods.
Adrian (22-6-1) were eliminated from the NCAA tournament last week in a 2-0 loss to Elmira. The Bulldogs earned their third straight NCAA tournament berth after winning the NCHA Slaats Cup playoff.
O'Sullivan was the leading scorer for Adrian this season with 30 points (7g, 23a). She is currently 14th in the country in assists per game with 0.79. Her 1.03 points per game are third amongst the nation's defensemen.
In addition, O'Sullivan was named to the All-NCHA team along with the NCHA Slaats Cup all-tournament team.
Turner leads all goalies with 11 shutouts on the year. She also holds school records for shutouts in a season as well as wins in a season (21-5-1). Her 1.00 goals-against average ranks third in the nation and her save percentage of .945 comes in at eight in the national rankings.
Turner was also named to the All-NCHA team and the NCHA Slaats Cup all-tournament team. She also earned the NCHA Freshman of the Year award.
Zink is fourth for points per game by a defenseman in the country with 0.93 points per game mark. She finished the season as the third leading scorer on the Bulldogs with a 5+22=27 point total.
Just like her fellow Bulldog All-Americans, she was named to the All-NCHA and NCHA Slaats Cup all-tournament teams.
