DULUTH, Minn. - Sophomores Jacqueline White (Royal Oak, Mich.) was named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) offensive player of the week and Kelly O'Sullivan (Inverness, Ill.) was named the defensive player of the week as announced by the league office this afternoon.
White scored the game-winning goal in both of Adrian's victories over Concordia University Wisconsin, helping the Bulldogs keep control of the top spot in the league standings. Her first goal was a power-play goal in the first period of Friday's game. The second goal came in the opening minute of the second period Saturday to put the Bulldogs up 2-1, sparking a three-goal second period that put the game away for Adrian. She also assisted on the second goal during Friday night's game that gave the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead as well as tallying the assist on the game-tying goal in the first period of Saturday's game.
O'Sullivan anchored a Bulldog defense that held the Falcons to only 28 shots in two games including two periods on Friday where CUW only tallied three shots on goal and a blank third period on Saturday. To go along with her stellar defensive performance, she also tallied four assists--two in each game--on offense.
This is White's first NCHA player of the week nod of her career; second for O'Sullivan (named offensive POTW in the opening week of the season).
Adrian will host Finlandia this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, February 10 and 11. Saturday's game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., ET, and is the Bulldog's "Pink the Rink" game. Sunday's contest is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., ET, and is senior day.
