DULUTH, Minn. - Adrian College freshman goalie Kate Turner was announced the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) defensive player of the week by the league office today (Tuesday, Jan. 30).

The Houston, Texas native added two shutout wins over St. Norbert to bring her season total to five--currently tied for third in the country in shutouts. She made 33 saves combined for the games as the Bulldogs won 1-0 on Friday night and 3-0 in Saturday afternoon's matchup.

Turner currently has the sixth-best goals against average in all of NCAA Division III (1st in NCHA) with 1.26 and is one of two freshman keepers in the top 10 for that category. She is ranked in the top-25 in both save percentage (22nd, .935) and winning percentage (19th, .694).

Adrian will start a four-game homestand when the team plays host to Concordia Wisconsin this weekend on Friday, February 2 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, February 3 at 3:00 p.m.
