Women's Hockey Rolls Through Northland, Winning 5-0 on Senior Day

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's hockey team rolled through Northland College, winning 5-0 on Senior Day to complete the two-game series sweep (both wins were shutouts). Kristin Lewicki (1,2) led the team with three points.

First Period: Adrian 1, Northland 0

Emily Duncan scored her first goal of the season as time was running out in the opening period. She was assisted on the play by fellow seniors, Lewicki and Lexie Tzafaroglou.

• Much like Friday's game, the Bulldogs dictated the pace of play and kept the puck on the offensive end for most of the first half, but were only able to come away with one goal in the period as Northland goalie, Chloe Marshall (L, 3-14) denied Adrian with several great saves.

• Adrian outshot the LumberJills 20-7.

Second Period: Adrian 3, Northland 0

Hannah Dalrymple scored a shorthanded goal that put the Bulldogs up 2-0 in the opening two minutes of the second period. Brooke Lupi and Duncan (earning her second point of the contest) assisted on the goal.

Lewicki scored on the power-play putting a slap shot past Marshall for the 3-0 lead. Kelly O'Sullivan and Kaylyn Schroka were on the assists.

• Adrian tallied 16 shots on goal for the period; the LumberJills had eight.

Third Period: Adrian 5, Northland 0

• Seniors Schroka and Sydney Smith each scored in the final period to give Adrian the 5-0 lead and seal the victory. Sarah Shureb and Kristi Zink assisted on Schroka's goal; Lewicki and  Shureb on Smith's.

• Adrian only allowed one shot on goal in the final period while registering 22 of their own for a game total of 58 shots on goal.

• The Bulldogs finished 2-3 (.667) on the power play; Northland was 0-1.


Lewicki (1,2) finished with a +1 and was 1-3 in the faceoff circle.

Schroka (1,1) was 13-17 on the faceoff and had a +2 at the conclusion of the game.

Jade Walsh (W, 11-1) saved all 15 shots she faced in her 40:00 of play.

Brooke Gibson made one save off the bench during the third period.


• Robyn Matula and Michaela Isetts-Williams led the team with three shots on goal.

• Kylie Fahmer finished 5-13 on the faceoff.

• Marshall saved 53 of the 58 shots she faced in the game.


• Adrian wraps up the regular season next weekend in a two-game series at Lake Forest on Friday and Saturday, February 17 and 18. Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday's will start at 3:00 p.m.
