#4 Adrian Cruises for the 5-1 Victory Over St. Olaf in Bruiser Bowl Finale

ADRIAN, Mich. – Kristin Lewicki scored a hat trick to lead the fourth ranked Adrian College women's hockey team to a 5-1 win over St. Olaf in Arrington Ice Arena during the final game of the 2016 Bruiser Bowl. She was named the Bruiser Bowl MVP for her performance over the weekend.

Lewicki (five goals and three assists in Bruiser Bowl) scored the first two goals in the game in the first period. Her first came 7:47 into the period. She was assisted on the goal by Bruiser Bowl All-Tournament Team members Logan Taylor (three goals and six assists in Bruiser Bowl) and Sydney Smith (one goal and four assists in Bruiser Bowl). Her second goal was an unassisted shorthanded goal in the final minute of the period. The score was 2-0 in favor of the Bulldogs heading into the first intermission.

Taylor would score for Adrian first in the second period, putting the score at 3-0. She was assisted by freshman teammate Brooke Lupi and Bruiser Bowl All-Tournament Team member Lexi Tzafaroglou (one goal and one assist in Bruiser Bowl). The second goal of the period was scored in the final minute of the period by Lewicki on a power play. Assisting her was Lupi and Adrian Captain Kaylyn Schroka. The Bulldogs would carry the 4-0 lead into the second intermission.

Taylor and Lewicki would continue to dominate the scoring for Adrian when Lewicki assisted Taylor on her second goal of the game in the first two minutes of the period. The Bulldogs looked poised to finish the Bruiser Bowl with a clean sweep of shut outs until St. Olaf's Jane Vezina scored in the final five minutes of the game to bring the score to 5-1. She was assisted by teammates Hannah Forliti and Kiki Platek.

Adrian out shot St. Olaf 43-22. They also won 43-of-62 face offs in the game. The Bulldogs went 2-for-7 (0.286) in power plays. The Oles went 0-for-8 in their power play opportunities.

Adrian hit the road to face NCHA foe Concordia (Wis.) on Friday, January 15 at 8:00 p.m.
