Bulldogs Fight Past St. Scholastica, 2-1

DULUTH, Minn. – The Bulldogs advanced to 16-0-3 overall with a 2-1 victory over the College of Saint Scholastica. Adrian controlled the play from the beginning as they allowed just one shot on goal in the first period. The Bulldogs completed their season sweep of the Saints as they now stand with 24 points in the NCHA, five points better than the second place Lake Forest College Foresters.

Kelsey Kusch tallied her 19th goal of the season at the 3:52 mark from Logan Taylor and Michelle Jones to give the Bulldogs the 1-0 lead. The Saints evened the score with just 1:27 left in the first period as the teams went to the first intermission tied, 1-1.

The teams played to a tied score headed into the third period before Kristin Lewicki scored the game-winning goal, her ninth of the season, from Taylor and Devyn Fitzhenry to push the Bulldogs ahead, 2-1. Adrian controlled the play with 31 shots on goal while allowing just 19. Jade Walsh made 18 saves to earn her 16th victory of the season as the Bulldogs advanced to 11-0-2 in the NCHA.

The Bulldogs will travel to take on Finlandia University tomorrow (1/31) for a 3 p.m. puck drop.
