WINONA, Minn. – The Bulldogs earned their second victory of the weekend with a dominating defensive performance against Saint Mary's (Minn.). The Bulldogs allowed just 11 shots on goal on their way to a 4-1 win and an 11-0-2 record overall.
The game remained scoreless after one period, but Adrian pulled away from Saint Mary's in the second period with a pair of goals. Michelle Jones began the scoring at the 6:33 mark on a goal from Lexie Tzafaroglou and Kristin Lewicki scored at 15:36 after a quick pass from goaltender Jade Walsh. Adrian would use this as momentum to advance their lead to 3-0 in just 17 seconds into the third period when Hannah McGowan scored from Kaylyn Schroka and Tzafarogou.
Walsh (11-0-2) earned the victory in goal for the Bulldogs by making 10 saves and recording her first career assist.
Adrian will see action again on January 16 when they travel to Concordia (Wis.) for a weekend series.
