ADRIAN, Mich. – The Bulldogs met St. Norbert Friday evening for the rubber match their season series with the Green Knights. The two teams met back on November 22-23 and the teams traded victories. The first game went to Adrian as Kelsey Kusch tallied four points in route to a 6-3 Bulldog win. The Green Knights stole the second game after two goals in a 19 second time span led to a 2-1 win.
Friday evening saw the Green Knights take the Bulldogs down in a 4-0 decision. St. Norbert scored all four of their goals in the second period and on power play opportunities. The first two goals for the Knights were scored within 28 seconds of each other. The first goal was scored on a five on three power play which was immediately followed by another St. Norbert power play goal as the Green Knights took a quick 2-0 lead. The Green Knights finished their scoring with two more power play goals as they proceeded to go 4-5 on the power play for the second period and 4-7 for the game.
The Bulldogs outshot the Green Knights both the first and third periods but both teams failed to score as these periods ended in scoreless ties.
St. Norbert held Adrian to 0-6 on the power play for the game and fought off each one of the Bulldogs 28 shots as they won 4-0. This loss drops Adrian to 17-5 on the season and 10-5 in the NCHA.
The Bulldogs will see action again next Saturday, February 15 when they travel to Lake Forest for an 8 p.m. faceoff.
