LAKE FOREST, Ill.- The Bulldogs ended their first series of the season at Lake Forest College Saturday afternoon. Adrian College took an early 1-0 lead midway thought the first period and saw that lead carry to the first break. Lake Forest tied the score in the last two minutes of the second period on a power play goal, and the game went into the final period in a deadlock. The final period was won by Lake Forest as the put three goals to the back of the net to run secure the victory and the Bulldogs finished the weekend at 1-1 on the season and 1-1 in the NCHA.
The Bulldogs goal was scored at the 10:35 mark by Kelsey Kusch on assists from Alix Vallee and Devyn Fitzhenry. This was Kusch's first goal and third point of the season. The second period was highlighted by four Bulldog penalties. The Bulldogs were able to escape each of the first three Lake Forest power plays, until a late penalty at the 18:44 mark put Adrian back on its penalty and this time Lake Forest managed to even the score. The third period was back and forth play with Lake Forest holding a slight advantage in shots at 15-12. The Bulldogs could not match the scoring total of the Foresters as they fell 4-1. )
Adrian College will play again Friday, November 8 at home against Marian (Wis.) at 7 p.m.
