Women's Golf Posts Best Round of Season on Final Day at DC Fall Invitational

WAUSEON, Ohio--The Adrian College women's golf team notched its best round of the season so far with Sunday's final round at the Defiance College Fall Invitational, shooting a combined 335. Including Saturday's first 18 holes, Adrian finished with a 345+335=680 on the Ironwood Golf Course for eighth place out of 12 teams.

Junior Hailey Scott (80+81) and senior Brooke Symons (81+80) led the Bulldogs with an identical 161 for a tie for 13th place out of 73 individuals. The rest of the Bulldogs lineup included sophomore Alexis Weston (91+85=176, T-38th), junior Hannah McKee (93+89=182, T-47th) and sophomore Audrey Jutis (93+106=199, 64th). Weston led the team's 10-shot improvement by shaving off six strokes from her total the previous day and she jumped seven spots in the standings.

Anna Marshall from champion Grace College-A was the medalist after shooting a 77+71=148, rising three places to win the event. Grace-A (310+303=613) beat second-place Lawrence Tech (330+315=645) for the team crown.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #1 at Pine River Country Club in Alma, hosted by Alma College. It's set to begin at 1 p.m.
