NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Bulldogs took on Saint Mary's College Wednesday night. Adrian was consistent from the free throw night all night as they would shoot 84.8% as a team on 28-33 shooting from the line. Jorden York and Antoinea McElroy led the Adrian attack as they would combine for 33 points in the 57-49 victory over the Belles.
York would spark the Bulldogs in the first half as they built as large as a six-point lead behind her nine points. Saint Mary's carried a one-point lead with 7:04 left in the half, but Adrian responded with a pair of made free throws by York that helped the Bulldogs take a 25-21 lead to the break.
The Belles would start the second half by retaking the lead quickly as they build a 27-25 lead. McElroy would then take over as she would record the next nine points for the Bulldogs to fuel an 11-2 Adrian run. Saint Mary's would keep the game close as they would play to a 47-47 tie with 2:50 left in the game. Brigitte Zavithsanos and Amber McCullough helped fight off the Belles with clutch free throws down the stretch to help secure the Adrian win, and advance the Bulldogs to 3-8 in the MIAA with a 7-13 record overall.
