ADRIAN, Mich. – The Bulldogs took on Finlandia University Sunday afternoon. Adrian overcame a half time deficit to outscore the Lions 55-36 in the second half to take the game, 87-76. This win advances the overall record for Adrian to 3-5 with a 2-1 mark at home.
The Bulldogs fell behind in the first half despite holding an early three point lead and tying the score three times. The Lions were able to stretch their half time lead to 40-32 after scoring the final four points of the initial period.
Adrian overcame this Finlandia lead by scoring 55 points in the second half. Amber McCullough led the Bulldog charge as she recorded a double-double in the second half with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jorden York added to the Adrian offense with 10 points while TraeVie Shelton totaled six points and seven rebounds. The Bulldogs broke open the game by taking a 10-0 run to break a 49-49 deadlock with 12:47 remaining and they did not look back. Adrian would add to this lead on their way to a 87-76 win.
McCullough finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Antoinea McElroy totaled 14 points and Brigitte Zavithsanos recorded 12 points and six assists. The Bulldogs saw six players reach double figures in scoring as Shelton, York, Zavithsanos, McElroy, McCullough and Paige Machnacki all reached double digits in scoring.
