Bulldogs Let John Carroll Slip By at Nan Nichols Classic

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Bulldogs finished their weekend in the Nan Nichols Classic at the College of Wooster Sunday afternoon against John Carroll. The Bulldogs carried a 43-36 halftime before John Carroll mounted a second half comeback that overcame Adrian by a 74-71 final score. This loss leaves the overall record for the Bulldogs at 1-1.

Adrian came out strong in the first half behind Brigitte Zavithsanos as she scored 19 points while adding four rebounds and four assists. The Bulldogs overcame an early 11-5 John Carrol advantage and scored the final five points of the half to hold a 43-36 halftime lead.

John Carroll then rallied in the second half as they took the lead back from the Bulldogs by slowly chipping away at the Adrian advantage to take a 53-48 lead. The Bulldogs would continue to battle throughout the second half, but they could not take back the lead as they surrendered a 74-71 final decision.

Zavithsanos finished with 27 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals. Jorden York totaled 15 points and Marissa Cotton tallied seven points and nine rebounds.

The Bulldogs will see action again on November 19 when they travel to take on Oberlin at 7:30 p.m.
