ROYAL OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association released its 2011-12 women's basketball all-conference teams today (Feb. 28) and Adrian College senior Katie Ross (Clawson, Mich.) was named Second Team by the coaches.
Ross is being honored for the first time in her career and had her best season averaging a career-best 11.8 points per game overall. She scored 283 points to lead the team and also chipped in 92 rebounds, 36 steals and 28 assists. Ross ranked seventh in the MIAA in conference games at 10.8 points per game. She also ranked first in three-pointers made per game (2.19) and eighth in three-point percentage (.337).
Ross connected on 62-of-157 (.395) from the three-point arc overall establishing a new career-best in makes and percentage. She leaves Adrian with 723 career points in 100 games for a 7.2 average. She made 156 career three-pointers which ranks second all-time at Adrian. She also was a career .739 free throw shooter making 105-of-142 at the stripe. Earlier this season she established a career-high with 34 points at Ohio Northern.
